What Do I Need?

Epoxy floor coating is comprised of epoxy which mixes resin and polyamin hardener. The substrates cure into a long-lasting finish that protects against heavy usage. Epoxy provides excellent protection against chips, stains, and chemicals. Epoxy floor coating is commonly used in garage floors for its ability to protect against auto-related wear and tear such as oil spillage. However the coating is also used in auto shops, hangars, and other commercial settings such as museums and even in the forays of convention centers and even gymnasiums. Garage floors and spaces treated with epoxy also provide simpler maintenance than bare cement floors which tend to release dust particles.

In addition to its functional purpose, epoxy floor coatings also provide beautiful end-results that will transform existing dull concrete floors into eye-appealing spaces. Customers can choose from a variety of colors and hues to customize their floors to suit their individual preferences.

One of the reason we advise our customers from applying epoxy themselves is that store-bought epoxy floor coatings do not provide the necessary protection against hot tire pick up for example. Store bought water-based epoxy coatings fail to provide a thick strong layer of protection and can grow weaker in warmer conditions.

Solid epoxy floor leave a reflective sheen to a surface. Customers not only have the option of selecting the color of their preference, but also, select custom patterns that can be created with a rolling sponge to add a level of interest.

Some of our customers are happy with their existing floors and request Epoxy clear coat. Epoxy clear coat applies white but when finished drying, leaves a strong but transparent overlay that protects floors. Epoxy clear coat can be applied to existing concrete floors.

Resurfacing concrete is an efficient way to salvage deteriorating concrete without tearing out old concrete slabs. It’s a great way to add value to existing home properties and improve the aesthetic appeal of the exterior and interior spaces of enterprise buildings. Concrete resurfacing systems and concrete overlay systems are used in driveways, patios, pool decks, auto shops, and many more locations.

As part of our decorative concrete overlay systems, we offer stamped overlays in a variety of different stone patterns to fit our customer’s unique project requirements and aesthetic preference.

Stamped overlays are a cost-efficient way to improve the curb appeal of a home, without having to replace or tear out existing concrete slabs. They can be stained to a desired color and our experts will ensure a long-lasting, weather-resistant application. The decorative concrete technique gives the appearance of realistical stone tiles. Stamped overlay systems are especially popular in driveways and patios, and landscaping projects seeking to obtain a high-end appearance.

Though there are many do-it-yourself solutions readily available, an insufficient knowledge-base of working temperature conditions such as high heat may unexpectedly influence curing time and produce less than desirable results. Because concrete resurfacing systems are oftentimes applied outdoors in fluctuating conditions, it’s important to hire professionals that understand the specific needs of a customer’s project to apply the proper sealants and assure long-lasting application.

Prepping existing concrete for resurfacing begins with cleaning with a high pressure washer to remove dirt so that the adhesion coat can be applied. Large cracks are also repaired to ensure a smooth application. After applying an initial acid wash the concrete overlay is applied.

We also offer several overlay textures that we create by hand. Hand troweled texture application can be manipulated to create different levels of smoothness. Knockdown texture, is another raised texture option that will provide slightly cooler temperatures in the hot summers. The texture is “knocked down” after initial application and will leave small troughs and grooves that decrease the surface that bare feet will come in contact with.

Customers seeking for a more textured look to their garage floors can consider color flakes, one of the most common techniques used in garage floors. After prepping a floor’s foundation by sweeping and vacuuming a floor, an epoxy coat is applied and colored flakes are broadcasted or dispersed until the initial layer of epoxy can no longer absorb the colored flakes. After allowing for the proper drying tiem, excess colored flakes are scraped off, and spaces are re-vacuumned again.

Epoxy floor coatings treated with colored quartz are applied in similar fashion to colored flakes, however, colored quartz gives off a more pebbled appearance. Epoxy color quartz systems provide a high-density overlay that protects against abrasion that occurs with heavy-duty usage. Colored quartz systems are popular in retail and commercial spaces for their ability to maintain a clean appearance with a pattern that camouflages dirt.

Orange peel is another raised texture that can be used in poolside decks to due its tendency to be cooler to walk on when compared to concrete, brick or pavers. Unlike knockdown texture, the orange peel will cure in an “orange peel” texture as suggested by its name.  Nonetheless we ensure to scrape orange peel and remove burs to obtain smooth walking surfaces.

Our customers will oftentimes choose microtopping overlays to resurface old concrete in interior spaces. Microtopping overlay application is our thinnest resurfacing option that gives concrete floors a smooth texture. We use high-strength polymer cement which can not only be used for concrete, but can also be applied to wood and steel.

Metallic epoxy floor coatings leave a reflective sheen and can oftentimes resemble luxurious marble floors if customers request a metallic marble epoxy flooring. These highly reflective surfaces can also be requested in solid colors and are ideal for retail and commercial spaces such as casinos, shopping malls, and gymnasiums.

We also offer Epoxy cover base and non-slip overlay systems. Anti-slip floors are ideal for commercial kitchen floors for example. With our urethane cement top coat, our customers can enjoy a long-lasting flooring system that will withstand harsh chemical cleansers, grease, oil, heat, and other traditional wear and tear that occurs in environments such as kitchens and laboratories. Our Epoxy cover-base and non-slip overlay system is chemical resistant and health department approved for kitchens and labs.

Even though polished concrete floors appear slippery, polished concrete floors provide enough traction to prevent slippage. Polished concrete floors are relatively easy to maintain. Removing the existing tile or carpeting oftentimes exposes concrete subfloors that customers can polish to obtain a modern and industrial polished concrete floor. With its ability to conduct heat, polished concrete floors are ideal for luxury homes that want to incorporate radiant floor heating systems.

Polished concrete floors utilize a densifier that will make a polished surface resistant to spills, wear and tear and prolong the durability of the floor’s polish. Grind and seal flooring systems undergo a similar process, except that floors are sealed with a clear topical sealant. Grind and seal flooring systems offer a non-porous, hypoallergenic surface that makes for easy maintenance. Grind, stain and seal flooring systems alter the color of concrete.

Home improvement projects such as balconies, raised walkways, decks, patios need to be able to withstand the elements such as rain, snow, hail, and UV rays. Wooden materials are susceptible to warping and rotting if left untreated. Weather-proofing balconies and raised walkways involves applying a variety of sealants  composed from different polymers to create the proper type of protection for specific climate-types.
